Hi there. Your Voice Matters is a platform for victims and survivors of sexual violence like myself, to come together and share their experiences, thoughts, and feelings about sexual violence and the subsequent criminal investigation, and judicial process. For myself, it often felt like it was me on trial and not the defendant, and i presume that this is the case for many other individuals. Personally, i believe that more needs to be done to protect victims during the criminal investigation and the trial, and that we as a society need to create more awareness about coercive and controlling behaviours, toxic relationships, and sexual violence and the impacts it has on a victim/survivor.

The impact sexual violence can have on us is significant. It’s a despicable act that nobody should ever have to experience, but unfortunately, we live in a dangerous world with many dangerous people, and some of us will however, become victims of this in our lifetime.

Your Voice Matters (YVM) is a communal space where people can come together to support and aid each other throughout these difficult times. This is a space to share our cares and our woes, to cry together, to share together, and to rebuild together. This is Your Voice…this is Your Story.
